    My son, Alan, got 50 extra credit points for bringing a pie to his Algebra class for Pi day which they celebrated on Monday.

    That’s so great! I wish Pi Day had been celebrated when I was growing up. The blending of math and food can only help in learning, right?

    “How, I like a drink, alcoholic of course, after the heavy lectures involving quantum mechanics”. My math teacher tought us this to remember the first part of pie. Did you know it?

    Haha, I meant pi, not pie. We don’t talk much about pie in math class, unfortunately.

    Another pie note, at a recent SCA event (the Mystery of the Pie Rats), a bad garb contest was held and one contestant was adorned with a pie shaped wedge with the numerical value of Pi on it. I got a good laugh, I’m not sure many others did…
