About Me

January 12th, 2010

My name is Yvette and I’m a writer, editor, contributor to the internets and student of Everything Geek. I grew up in Ohio, spent a year as an exchange student in Norway, and currently reside in Utah. Check out my blog archives for more thrilling details, quirky humor, and geeky insights into my life. Also, too many photos of my cats.

This whole blog thing came about after I put The Geek Test online. There are only 500 questions, and I guarantee that you’ll enjoy 10-90% of them! There are also semi-reasonable translations in French, Spanish, German and Italian. The Geek Test is desperately in need of an update, and I am aware of this. I have over 1,000 emails with suggestions that have made it hard to decide what should go in it next! But keep sending them in. If you have a great or totally wacky suggestion, there’s a very good chance it will make it in.

Right now I’m embroiled in a 365 day challenge adventure, wherein I am trying to prove to myself that I can blog every single day for a year. I have failed at writing 50,000 words in a month for NaNoWriMo and have not yet even been able to blog for 30 days in a row. I disappoint myself on a regular basis. I’m an expert at excuses, but so far (January 11), I’m pleasantly surprising myself.

I would love for you to leave a comment on any of my blog entries, new or old, if you have something you would like to add. Don’t be shy! I made an ass out myself every time I hit “Publish” so come on and join the fun!
